NBA Africa has launched the 'Africa Startup Accelerator' to support early-stage startups in sports and creative sectors with mentorship and funding. Managed by ALX Ventures, the program will culminate in a Demo Day in New York City, where winners will receive support and opportunities to collaborate with NBA Africa and the Basketball Africa League, emphasizing NBA Africa's commitment to fostering entrepreneurship in Africa’s sports and creative industries.

Talk360, an international calling app connecting the African diaspora, has raised $1.4 million in a Pre-Series A funding round led by Havaic. This funding aims to help the company reach seven million users by 2025 while enhancing its path to profitability. With its unique ability to facilitate affordable international calls, Talk360 has grown its user base to four million and plans to expand language support and forge partnerships with remittance companies and retailers. The funding also supports the development of a payment aggregator to improve payment conversions, highlighting Talk360's commitment to addressing the communication needs of underserved communities across Africa.
